Understanding Portion Sizes

The Numbers

  • 4 oz Servings: A pound of pulled pork provides approximately 4 servings (since 16 ounces make a pound).
  • 6 oz Servings: The same pound yields around 2.67 servings.
  • 10 oz Servings: With a pound, you’ll have roughly 1.6 servings.

4oz

A moderate serving, perfect for those who want to enjoy the flavors without feeling overly full. Think of it as a sampler size—a taste of BBQ goodness.

6oz

A heartier helping that strikes a balance between flavor and satisfaction. Ideal for most folks who want a substantial portion without going overboard.

10oz

For true BBQ enthusiasts—the ones who crave that smoky, tender goodness. It’s a generous serving, perfect for diving into a meaty feast.

  • 4 ounces is the portion size that is just larger than one of the sliders on the slider combo.  This portion would be ideal to order two different BBQ meats at 4 ounces of each type to complete a dinner size portion.
  • 6 ounces is the portion size that we use for our BBQ Beef Brisket and Pulled Pork sandwiches.  Slightly less than an entree portion, when paired with one side dish would make the perfect luncheon.
  • 10 ounces is the portion size that we use on the Smoke and Fire Combo platter, which is one of our most popular entree size offerings.  When paired with 2 side dishes it is an enjoyable meal.  I would suggest pairing this with a salad course for larger gatherings or when larger appetites are invited.
